Patrick Bias joined Motiva in November 2024 in the role of Vice President, Major Projects. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, Patrick is accountable for delivering major capital investments safely and with results that will achieve overall business and market requirements.
Patrick is a seasoned executive with a proven track record in driving corporate growth, leading large-scale capital projects, and managing strategic initiatives across engineering, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and highly regulated industries. Known for his innovative problem-solving and leadership, Patrick excels in delivering reliable, sustainable solutions that enhance profitability and operational excellence for growth-oriented organizations.
With over 30 years of leadership experience, he has held progressive roles managing diverse portfolios of assets through ownership transitions at organizations such as Amoco Chemicals, BP Chemicals, and INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA. His expertise spans engineering leadership, capital project execution, joint venture formation, plant startups, fire rebuilds, risk management, and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) outcomes.
Patrick holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Southern University and A&M College and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, demonstrating his commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement. He and his wife DeAnn, have 2 children (Patrick II and Faith). In their spare time, they enjoy traveling and hanging out at beaches.
