Jeff Newman
Executive Vice President, Operations
Jeff Newman is Executive Vice President, Operations at Motiva. In his role, he is responsible for Motiva's Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex, which includes North America’s largest refinery and a chemicals plant; pipeline and distribution assets; marine operations; and the digitalization and technical excellence functions.
His steady focus on safety and reliability has enabled the Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex to set production records as well as continually strengthen its safety record.
He brings more than 30 years of experience in operations to the position. Jeff has been part of the Motiva family since its inception when he began his career at the Norco Manufacturing Complex in Louisiana, then part of Motiva.
In 2007, he moved to Shell's Puget Sound Refinery, returning to Motiva in 2010 to work on the Crude Expansion Project in Port Arthur, Texas. He was responsible for supporting the construction completion, commissioning, and early operation of the $10 billion project that doubled the capacity of the refinery.
Once the expansion was complete, Jeff moved into a leadership role as Maintenance Manager at the refinery, and in 2019, he became Vice President, Production. In 2022, he was named Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex. He became an Executive Vice President in January 2023.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of South Alabama. He and his wife Becky have two children. They have a sailboat and enjoy sailing on Galveston Bay.
