Motiva to Recognize 40 Southeast Texas Students with Excellence in Education Scholarship
HOUSTON (June 3, 2020) – Motiva Enterprises today announced it will award scholarship funds totaling $180,000 to 40 high school graduates from Southeast Texas. Recipients of the Motiva Excellence in Education Scholarship will receive funds to aid in their pursuit of a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) or business-related undergraduate, associates, or vocational degree.
“Southeast Texas is home to the talent that will further the energy industry’s legacy of excellence and innovation,” said Motiva President and CEO Brian Coffman. “We’re honored to support the dreams of outstanding students in our community while helping usher in the next generation of industry talent.”
Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic achievements, extracurricular activities, community service and teacher recommendations in partnership with local school districts.
To date, Motiva has awarded nearly $2.5 million in higher education funds through its scholarship program.
