Motiva Enterprises today announced it will award scholarship funds totaling $180,000 to 40 high school graduates from Southeast Texas. Recipients of the Motiva Excellence in Education Scholarship will receive funds to aid in their pursuit of a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) or business-related undergraduate, associates, or vocational degree.

Motiva Enterprises today announced donations in support of the organizations and personnel on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic response. The donation of funds, gas cards, and technology is part of a broad effort by Motiva to strengthen pandemic response and recovery in the communities in which it operates.

Junior Achievement of the Golden Triangle hosted over 150 high school students and 70 professional engineers from 15 local companies at its 9th Annual Engineering Job Shadow Lunch. Held at the Setzer Center on Lamar University Campus on February 12, the event was designed to spark student interest in engineering as a career path by demonstrating showcasing various fields of engineering and the ways engineers contribute to our community and the world.

Motiva Enterprises, LLC today announced the appointment of Amy Marlyse Plato as the company’s Executive Vice President, General Counsel. As a member of Motiva’s Executive Leadership team, Plato’s responsibilities include serving as Corporate Secretary and Business Compliance Officer. Plato succeeds Chris Vice, who retired after performing this role with distinction since 2011.

Motiva Enterprises LLC and an affiliate of Flint Hills Resources announced today that they have signed an agreement for Motiva to acquire a 100% ownership interest in Flint Hills Resources Port Arthur, LLC. The potential acquisition is targeted to close in the fourth quarter of 2019, subject to satisfaction of closing conditions. The parties will not be disclosing the terms of the transaction.

On June 18, Motiva Enterprises awarded 40 2019 high school graduates with a $2,500 per annum scholarship to aid their higher education pursuits. Motiva’s scholarship program, now in its sixteenth year, awards scholarships to 20 college-bound children of Motiva employees and 20 high school seniors who live in the southeast region of Texas. To date, Motiva has awarded more than $2.25 million in scholarships.

At a Henderson Middle School assembly today, Motiva presented Hardin-Jefferson Independent School District (HJISD) with a donation totaling $895,765 to support the Sour Lake area school district to recover and rebuild from the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Harvey.

Motiva presented donations totaling $900,000 to the Port Arthur Independent School District and Lamar State College to aid the educational institutions in the Port Arthur community to further their Harvey flood recovery and rebuild efforts.
